AMA Concert in Philadelphia

The annual concert for the benefit of the Associate Missionaries of the Assumption (AMA) was held May 21st at St. Joseph’s University Chapel, 5600 City Avenue, Philadelphia, PA.

This year, we had the pleasure of presenting a DePasquale Trio, featuring not only Bill de Pasquale (who recently retired from the Philadelphia Orchestra) and his wife, Gloria – who still plays with the Philadelphia Orchestra, but also their daughter Francesca.

Their continued generosity allowed us to offer a concert all enjoyed. The proceeds from the concert are used to support young women and men who offer a year or two of their lives to the service of God and their fellow human beings in various parts of the world. AMAs serve in different countries in the Americas, Africa, Asia and Europe.

Since 1997, AMAs have also served in the United States. Working with the Religious of the Assumption in Worcester, MA and Chaparral, NM the AMAs have become important partners-in-mission with the Sisters. This year we are hoping to begin an AMA community in Philadelphia to help in the work of educating inner-city children.

We are grateful to all who came and supported this important mission.
