General Chapter, Week 2, July 21, 2006

The General Chapter entered its second week of work in the midst of a European heat wave! Fans and ice-cold water bottles were everyone's "must-haves".

The topics discussed were hot too: Philosophy and Passion, re-reading six years of "Assumption Together", and reflections on leadership and discernment. Prayer and reflection on leadership were especially important in view of the election of the new Superior General scheduled for Monday, July 24th.

Different Provinces also gave presentations on different projects that exemplify the way the Assumption is responding to the congregational priority of JPIC (Justice, Peace and Integrity of Creation).
