Canonization of MOTHER marie eugenie

Easter Greetings from Sr. Diana and The General Council, April 8, 2007

Dearest Sisters and Friends of the Assumption,

Greetings for a holy and joyous feast of the Resurrection! The image of the post-Resurrection Christ on the road to Emmaus (Luke 24:13-32)) is ours in a special way at this time in the history of the Congregation. "What are you discussing with each other while you walk along?" May He enlighten us as he did the disciples on the road to Emmaus as to the true significance of the events that we are living today and in the months ahead.

On June 3rd, the Church will know the joy of adding another woman to the litany of saints; of introducing another path of holiness for pilgrims, searchers and builders of God’s Reign on earth, reflection of His Glory.

We are journeying as the spiritual family of the Assumption and quickly approaching a milestone date, the canonization of our foundress, Marie Eugenie. Isaiah (56,7) speaks of the joy of pilgrimage, "These I will bring to my holy mountain, and make them joyful in my house of prayer." We are very united to you as we walk together as pilgrims on the path of joy towards hundreds of small and big sanctuaries to receive the grace which the canonization means for each one and for our spiritual family.

May the Risen Christ fill us with His Joy, Peace and assurance that He goes before us and that we will see Him when announcing the Gospel to all nations!

With affection and prayer,
Sister Diana and the General Community
