Typhoon Fund Drive, August 22, 2008

Typhoon Fengshen ripped through the Philippines June 21st causing extensive damage and loss of life. The capsizing of the ferry M.V. Princess of the Stars alone caused more than 700 deaths.

The Assumption Sisters in the Philippines responded immediately by providing emergency shelter, food and other assistance to the victims of the typhoon. They are now engaged in rehabilitation work, primarily focused on building houses for those who were rendered homeless by Fengsheng's high floodwaters and strong winds.
