Greetings on the Feast of the Assumption, August 14, 2009

Greetings to all our readers on this Feast of the Assumption of our Blessed Mother!

Below is a message from Sr. Diana, our Superior General, and the General Council on this happy and blessed Feast:

“She is blessed of God, The Mother
Who sees her Son die on the Cross.
She is blessed of God!
She opens the age of Faith.”

Let us celebrate!
Yes, let us celebrate the Virgin Mary in the Assumption,

this year,
as a woman, the glory of our humanity,

who “opens the age of the Faith”!

Let us rejoice!
She is a model for us in so many of the mysteries of her life:
her welcome of the Word of God,
her family relationships,

her attentiveness to those in need,
the incomprehensible events like the joys of giving birth -

The Assumption of Mary into heaven confirms all this

as a path of glory.

So let us rejoice in this crowning of a life completely given!

Let us encourage

each other along the same path,
at once both horizontal and vertical:

“Mary set out in haste” - Lk 1:39-40
“In Mary all was adoration” - Rule of Life prologue

In communion of affection, mission and prayer,
We wish you a happy feast of the Assumption 2009!
