Calling All Alumnae Back to Ravenhill, September 10, 2009
Dear Ravenhill Alumnae and Friends,
For Alumnae Day 2009, we will meet at the Ravenhill campus on October 18, 2009. We hope you can come as we only have alumnae day at Ravenhill every other year.
The cost is $30.00 per person and the schedule will be as follows:
Mass 10:00 a.m.
Registration and Brunch: 11:30 a.m.
Dr. Spinelli, President of Philadelphia University, will welcome us, followed by a Mass of Thanksgving in the Chapel at 10:00 a.m. celebrated by Fr. Robert Hagan, OSA.
This is a special year for our wonderful nuns and us -- it is the 90th anniversary of the arrival of the Assumption Sisters to Philadelphia and the opening of Ravenhill on October 12, 1919. Just think -- if the nuns had not started Ravenhill, none of us would have had the pleasure of knowing each other for all these years.
In addition, we can wish Sr. Francis Joseph a belated 90th birthday. There was a party for her on June 7 in the garden behind the church which was a fun affair.
If you are interested in singing or playing an instrument during the Mass, please contact Pat Sweeney-Capone.
If you graduated from RHA during a year ending with a "4" or a "9", you are a jubilarian and we will recognize your class.
As always, please bring spouse and/or family and friends. It is a wonderful opportunity to catch up with the nuns who taught you as well as your classmates.
