In West Philadelphia, our apostolate covers a number of different constituencies. We minister at St. Frances de Sales parish and are also connected with the Newman Center at the University of Pennsylvania, leading groups of young people on immersion experiences to our community in Chaparral, NM.

Through teaching at the Hispanic Bible Institute and sacramental preparation at La Milagrosa Chapel, we minister to Hispanic immigrants. We also run faith formation programs for the Ecuadoran community of Danbury, Connecticut.

The most recent outreach has been to groups of adult laypeople. A group that began the Spiritual Exercises in the 19th Annotation mode in 2006 has grown into several groups interested in spiritual practice, spiritual reading, and scripture study. In addition, some members of the initial group have become teachers of the Exercises themselves. Some have also made a more formal commitment in the Assumption itself, becoming members of the “Friends of the Assumption,” an international organization within our congregation.
