Blessed Marie Eugenie
Marie Eugenie Milleret Lecture at Assumption College, April 18, 2007
On Wednesday, April 18 at 7:30 p.m., the annual Marie Eugenie Milleret Lecture will take place in the Salon of La Maison Francaise, Assumption College, Worcester, MA. This year, in view of the impending canonization of Marie Eugenie Milleret on June 3, Sr. Clare Teresa Tjader, R.A., will give a talk about her early years, “A Saint Goes to College.”
Sr. Clare will trace the formative years of Marie-Eugenie's life journey from her upbringing in a family that was both impassioned with the ideals of the French Revolution and indifferent to religion through the steps that led her to found the Assumption in Paris at age 22 in 1839.
Sister Clare Teresa is a former Superior General of the Religious of the Assumption (1983 – 1995) and Provincial of the United States (2000 – 2006). Currently she is Superior of the West Philadelphia community and an Assumption College trustee.
The lecture is free of charge and open to the public.
