Celebrating Mother Marie Eugenie's Canonization in the U.S., May 23, 2007
As more than 6000 pilgrims from all over the world begin to make their way to Rome to celebrate the canonization of Mother Marie Eugenie, we heartily invite those who are unable to be there with us to come to any of the local celebrations that will be held in the U.S. and in Paris, the birthplace of the Religious of the Assumption.
If you are in the San Francisco area, please join the alumnae and friends of Assumption for Mass on Sunday, June 3rd, 3:00 p.m. at Saint Veronica's Catholic Church in South San Francisco. A reception will follow in the Parish Hall. Please click http://www.stveronicassf.com/ for directions to the church.
The community of Chaparral, New Mexico will celebrate Mother Marie Eugenie’s canonization with Mass on Wednesday, August 15th – the Feast of the Assumption – at the parish of St. Thomas More.
If you are in the greater Philadelphia area, come and celebrate with the Sisters, alumnae and the Archdiocesan community on Saturday, October 27th at the 5:15 p.m. Mass at the Cathedral of Sts. Peter and Paul. Stay on for the reception that will follow.
The date of the local celebration in Worcester, MA will be announced shortly.
In Paris, where the congregation was founded, the local celebration of the canonization will take place on Saturday, October 13th with Mass at the Cathedral of Notre Dame.
EWTN will be televising the canonization Mass live from Rome on June 3rd. It will be very early in the morning in the U.S., so either wake up at the crack of dawn or set your VCR to record it at the correct local time!
Whether you come with us to Rome, join us for the local celebrations or participate in the canonization Mass through the telecast, please say a prayer of thanksgiving for this holy woman and the gift that she is to the universal Church and to each one of us. Saint Marie Eugenie, pray for us!
