a thought from mother marie eugenie

“It is God who directs everything, and never was there a more loving or wiser hand to direct our destinies.” (Instruction April 14, 1878)

A thought and Prayer for You

These words came from the pen of Marie Eugenie at the age of 60. She already had a long experience of life, life with God, at the head of the congregation. She knew the responsibilities as well as the challenges and the failures. This energetic and enterprising woman, gifted with so many talents, wanted more than anything to collaborate in the project of God. Her great idea of God, her growing confidence in the goodness of God, her understanding of the project of love of God confirmed her in her credo: “To want what God wants, that is our happiness!”

This morning, let me take the time to bless God for the project of love that he has for me, for my loved ones, for the world. Then, let me look at all that I have to do today: encounters with others, work, meetings – in short, all that is on my agenda today – and let me put it all into the hands of the Father, saying to him: “Lord, in all of this, let your will be done. In all of this, I will take your hand and walk at your side. Give me the gift of understanding what you want so as to want it, too, with all my strength, and to do all that I can to make it happen. Help me to welcome the unforeseen things of this day with an open heart. Let me be ready to let myself be disturbed, remembering that it could be you knocking on my door today.”
